How we compare

What do we mean by full fibre broadband for the home?

Peter Rampling, Chief Commercial Officer at Community Fibre is here to explain all:

" Our full fibre broadband for the home means your internet connection is delivered via a fibre-optic network that runs directly to your property. You might see this referred to as fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) or fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP). It's different to fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC), which only brings fibre to a local junction box and then relies on old slow technology copper wires for the final leg of the journey to your property.

Compared to FTTC, our 100% full fibre network delivers faster, more consistent up and download speeds and overall, more reliability with 99.9% availability. The key benefit for you is your Community Fibre internet connection offers enhanced speeds, stability and capacity and is future proofed to support increasing demands for even higher-bandwidth services. It is worth watching out for those providers not offering more than 1 Gbps currently as some are not future proofed for a multi-gig world whereas at Community Fibre, we already offer up to 5 Gbps for consumers and up to 10 Gbps for businesses.”

FAQs: Home broadband deals

The easiest way to find out if we can bring full fibre to your home is to enter your postcode and see if we can offer you our services.

Yes! You can add the likes of Calls and TV for an extra cost, but broadband only packages are our core offering. So, if it's an internet only deal you want, look no further.

Every household is different, with unique needs, so it will depend. For example, our 100 and 300 Mbps deals are best for light internet users where there are not several devices on the network at the same time. For busy homes and families, our 1 Gbps packages may be more suitable. And for those seeking the speediest connections – perhaps for gaming or streaming lots of UHD content our 5 Gbps home broadband deals are the fastest in London.

Not with us, no. Lots of other providers offer plans that include a landline, but our FTTH connection means our network runs straight into your home. So, you get faster, more reliable broadband – without the extra complications or costs of a phone line.

No, we do not charge line rental on any of our packages, because they do not require a landline.

No, all of our home broadband packages provide unlimited data allowances. So, you can shop, game, stream and chat for as long as you like.

This can vary. Our advertised speeds are for a single device plugged into your router using a wired (Ethernet) connection. However, things like the distance from the router, wall thickness and interference from other devices can affect your WiFi signal.

So, more speed means more devices from multiple users can connect at the same time without compromising quality.

If you prefer, the convenience of WiFi and need to improve your current signal, our Premium WiFi service is available with our 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps and 5 Gbps Fibre Broadband can help.

Enjoy whole home coverage, with a minimum 50 Mbps in up to five bedrooms and 12 rooms in total, across a maximum of three floors. If not - we’ll give you three month’s free broadband.

Our service will aim to deliver the speed ranges advertised with our standard broadband packages and our guarantee pays out if we fail to deliver a minimum baseline WiFi speed of 50 Mbps in every room. T&Cs apply. Explore our Premium WiFi.

We pride ourselves on offering a prompt service and you should be able to book a timeslot for within as little as two working days. Once there, your engineer will typically have everything ready and good to go in 90 minutes. And if you've opted into our switching service, your existing provider won't turn off your current broadband until ours is live. You won't lose your connection at any point.

No, there are no set-up fees on any of our home broadband deals. Installation is free and a router is included. All you have to pay is your monthly direct debit.

You'll pay for your broadband via direct debit, which must come from a current account. We can't accept payment from a cash or savings account. You'll get your bill on the same day every month and your first payment will be taken three days after you receive your bill.

Yes, you can make changes to your home broadband package. To discuss this just get in touch via live chat or fill out our online form. We’ll aim to get back to you within two working days.
